![]() So when the castle blasts off and he’s left alone looking at Janet and the life he’s returning to, I think there’s a lot more sadness and thoughts of, ‘I don’t think this is who I am anymore. ![]() Maybe there was a tiny part of Brad that wasn’t necessarily getting answers, but was realizing he had a lot of questions and that maybe this Transylvanian cult of misfits could teach him things and open himself up from his pedestrian, very typical lifestyle. “The way I played it is maybe Brad didn’t want to leave. “The movie made it seem like Brad and Janet escape this crazy set of circumstances by the skin of their teeth and barely escaped these aliens and these monsters,” he said. McCartan says he loves the way Barry Bostwick portrayed Brad in the original “Rocky Horror” and says he tried to bring a little something of his own to the bumbling young man with glasses. I knew I would, but I never thought it would be like this.” ![]() I knew I could totally play that role someday. When the awkwardness settled, I just became so enthralled with this wonderfully weird masterpiece and I saw so much of myself in Brad. “I was 12 or 13 and I remember my sister dancing inappropriately around on stage and my parents sitting next to me - it was a very awkward bridge to gap. “My sister was in ‘Rocky Horror’ at the Ordway Theater in St. McCartan has his sister, Alison, to thank for catching the acting bug and his introduction to “Rocky Horror.” I have extreme respect for my friends and loved ones who walk around in heels because I don’t know how they do that.” “I had to learn how to walk and dance very comfortably in heels and that’s not something I was used to doing,” McCartan said. While being part of the “Rocky Horror” world was an honor, he says, the hardest part of making the TV project were the technicalities from filming all night long to learning to dance in high heels.
